Chad Fitzmorris
Verdigris, Oklahoma

Bachelor of Science, Biology – Environmental Conservation

“I could have studied at a larger university, but I wouldn’t have received the same level of hands-on research and fieldwork that I’ve had at RSU. Because of RSU’s small class sizes, I get more opportunities to work directly with my professors who have a real interest in helping me succeed.” – Chad Fitzmorris

From caves in northeast Oklahoma to the plains in the Panhandle, Chad Fitzmorris has worked closely with RSU faculty member Dr. Keith Martin to study the effects of toxicants on the state’s soil and water supplies.

Chad has engaged in field experience in ecological studies, including Dr. Martin’s influential research and protection efforts of the state’s native bat populations.

During his years at RSU, Dr. Martin has engaged hundreds of students with his field research because he strongly believes that learning shouldn’t be confined within the four walls of a traditional classroom.
