Open To

• Men and women who are or will be a full time enrolled student (12 hours) starting in Fall 2008. 
• Scholarships will be awarded for those that make the squad.

Grades

• High school seniors trying out must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to be eligible for tryout.
• All current RSU students or transfer students trying out must have a cumulative GPA of 2.25 to be eligible for tryout.
• Unofficial transcripts must accompany application and turned in at the beginning of clinic.

Tryout Info

Tumbling:

• Minimum Requirement:  backhandspring  (may be either standing or running)
• Competitors will be scored on one running and one standing tumbling pass.
• Spots may not be used at tryouts.

Jumps:

• Required:  double toe touch.
• Two additional jumps of your choice.

Stunts:

• All participants will be judged in two separate stunts.
• Flyers must show two different body positions.
• Participants may be used in more than two stunts, but no more than four. If you are in more than two stunts, you will only be scored on the two stunts of your choice.
• Frontspots may be used but will not be scored.

Participants will also be scored on a fight-song style dance and a chant. All tryout material will be taught at the tryout clinics on Thursday and Friday. It is important that you attend all three days of the tryout process. An example score sheet will be handed out on Friday.
