Killed In Action MemorialA Highly Visible and Historic LocationThe Oklahoma Military Academy Killed in Action Memorial will be constructed on the greenway between Preparatory Hall and Meyer Hall, original campus buildings which housed the classrooms and the first barracks for OMA cadets. Today, these buildings are listed National Register of Historic Places and Meyer Hall houses the OMA Museum. A Lasting TributeThe Memorial will be a granite pyramid with an eternal flame at the apex. It will be a lasting tribute to the many men who were Killed In Action. More than 2,500 Oklahoma Military Academy cadets served in the Armed Forces of the United States during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Of this number, more than 100 are known to have died. Goal for the Memorial and an EndowmentThe goal is to raise $125,000 by March 31, 2011. The first $65,000 will be designated for the design, construction and landscaping of the Memorial. Funds received over and above this cost will be placed in an Oklahoma Military Academy Killed In Action Memorial Endowment.
