Athletics Administrative Assistant

Rogers State University is seeking an Administrative Assistant in the Athletic Department.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with budgets, databases, spreadsheets, preparing office correspondence and phone skills.  The successful candidate will assist with game day operations and management and other duties as assigned by the director of athletics. 

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will have earned an associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.  Three to five years of administrative experience is preferred.  Proficiency in MS office, Excel and Word is required.  Submit Resume with 3 references.


Financial Aid Assistant

Roger’s State University is now accepting applications for a Financial Aid Assistant. The applicant will perform various functions relating to financial aid.  Oversees the financial aid front counter and acts as a point of first contact for current and prospective students regarding financial aid matters; assists financial aid counselors and director; process all incoming mail; coordinate student work schedules. Associates Degree or experience in similar position preferred. Knowledge of software packages and quick study on mainframe access. Must have excellent communication, telephone, and people skills with the ability to be flexible. Financial Aid Assistant will report to the Director of Financial Aid.


Computer Operator/Support Technician

The Computer Operator/Support Technician is an entry-level position that will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting microcomputer hardware and software. The position will also be responsible for network and phone cable installation. The Computer Operator/Support Technician will install, configure, and troubleshoot our phone and voice-mail system.


Master Control Operator

Rogers State University is recruiting a part-time Master Control Operator. Responsible for competent and efficient operations of Master Control and station equipment to ensure accurate and timely airing of all programming to be broadcast via UHF35. Master Control Supervisor

Rogers State University is recruiting a person to fill the position of Master Control Supervisor. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. Candidates should have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years Master Control experience; or 3-4 years experience in Master Control in a broadcast television facility. Grounds Technician

Rogers State University is accepting applications for Grounds Technician.  The applicant will perform all duties necessary for the care & maintenance of the University’s grounds, including turf, trees, shrubs, plants, and flowerbeds. Ability to operate related equipment such as mowers, edges, weed eaters, and tractor required.


 

Administrative Assistant

Rogers State University is seeking an Administrative Assistant in the Office of Development. The ideal candidate will have experience working with database programs and will demonstrate superior administrative skills. The person selected for this position will report to the Director of Development and the Director of Alumni and Special Events.

Job duties include generating reports, spreadsheets, purchase orders, promotional materials and preparing general office correspondence. The individual will assist with the annual scholarship auction, the scholarship program, and other special events.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have earned an associates degree or equivalent work experience. Three to five years of administrative experience is required. Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and Word is required. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, Auction and PowerPoint software preferred. Submit resume with 2 references.


Building Maintenance Foreman/Supervisor

The position will coordinate the University Physical Plant building maintenance program, activities, policies and procedures; will coordinate all work with the Director of Physical Plant, faculty, staff and technicians in regards to campus activities and projects; and will provide complex, professional support and assistance to the Director of the Physical Plant.


Educational Opportunity Center - Educational Specialist

The University is accepting applications for the position of Educational Specialist for the Educational Opportunity Center. The Educational Specialist provides academic and career assessment and financial aid guidance to approximately 450 adults seeking to enter post-secondary education. The Educational Specialist assists in the implementation of program activities including workshops, career testing, referrals for tutoring and GED classes and a variety of other tasks related to assisting adult participants from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds as they identify and fill their post-secondary academic and career needs.

The individual selected for this position must show clear evidence of the ability to deal effectively with complicated tasks related to providing a wide variety of activities and services typical for a comprehensive educational and assessment program for disadvantaged individuals. Applicants must be effective problem solvers and have the ability to pay attention to detail while providing a broad range of services designed to ensure the academic and personal success of program participants. 

The Educational Specialist will be responsible for accurately documenting services, screening and recommending participants for selection in the project and providing strong role modeling and leadership for an ethnically diverse group served by this program. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

The Educational Specialist position is a twelve-month, full-time, grant funded position with continued employment contingent upon availability of funds and satisfactory job performance. A bachelors’ degree in guidance, counseling, student personnel services, education or a closely related field is required. Previous experience working with educationally and economically disadvantaged individuals or previous TRiO program experience is preferred.

Upward Bound - Core Curriculum Instructors

  • Four (4) individuals will be needed for Summer 2008 Program
  • One each for: Language Arts/Literature, Math, Science and Foreign Language (French, Italian, or German)
  • 1 June - 16 July 2008

The University is accepting applications for the temporary, full-time position of Core Curriculum Instructors for the Upward Bound program. Under the direction of the Upward Bound Program Director and the TRiO Department Executive Director, the instructor effectively assists in the supervision and classroom instruction of approximately 40 high-school-aged students during a six-week summer program. The UB program is designed to motivate and prepare high school students from diverse backgrounds, communities and socio-economic groups for college admissions and successful higher education experiences.  The instructor will serve as a role model for the Upward Bound student and help develop positive relationships among participants and staff. 

The individuals selected for this position must show clear evidence of the ability to deal effectively with complicated tasks related to providing a wide variety of activities and services typical for a comprehensive educational and assessment program for disadvantaged individuals from “high risk” backgrounds. Applicants must be effective problem solvers and have the ability to pay attention to detail while providing a broad range of hands-on learning applications to stimulate engagement of participants through educational activities and instruction.

Under the supervision of the Upward Bound Program Director, Instructors will be responsible for accurate documentation of services provided to participants, providing strong role modeling and leadership for an ethnically diverse group served by this program. The Instructors will attend the year-end banquet, continue duties during the six-day trip from 11 July 2008 through 16 July 2008, attend all in-service and staff meetings associated with the Upward Bound summer component and possibly assist with the end-of-program trip.

The Instructor positions are temporary, full-time, grant funded positions with employment contingent upon availability of funds and satisfactory job performance.  Qualifications for this position include:  Twenty-one years of age or older. Completed Bachelor’s Degree in area of instruction for which employment is sought; Oklahoma secondary certification preferred.  Excellent role model to high-school-age students.  Background check is required and will be conducted through RSU Campus Police.

Preferred qualifications include:  Previous secondary teaching and TRIO experience and/or experience working with disadvantaged, “at risk” students from culturally diverse backgrounds, communities, and socio-economic groups.

Under the supervision of the Upward Bound Program Director, Mentors will be responsible for accurate documentation of services provided to participants, providing strong role modeling and leadership for an ethnically diverse group served by this program. The Mentors will reside on the RSU campus from 2 June 2008 through 18 July 2008 to supervise and interact with program participants, attend the year-end banquet, continue duties during the six-day trip from 11 July 2008 through 16 July 2008, and attend all in-service and staff meetings associated with the Upward Bound summer component.  Room and board are provided in addition to salary.

The Mentor positions are temporary, part-time, grant funded positions with employment contingent upon availability of funds and satisfactory job performance.  Qualifications for this position include:  Twenty-one years of age or older. Completed at least one year of post secondary education and working toward a Bachelor’s Degree.  Excellent role model to high-school-age students.  Background check is required and will be conducted through RSU Campus Police.

Preferred qualifications include:  Completed an Associate’s Degree or equivalency with the major area of study in education, social work, or physical education.  Previous TRIO experience and/or experience working with disadvantaged, “at risk” students from culturally diverse backgrounds, communities, and socio-economic groups.

Director of Career Services, Student Affairs

The University is accepting applications for the position of Director of Career Services. The individual selected for this position will provide students with quality career resources and employment opportunities as well as facilitate the interaction between the students and the business community.

The Director of Career Services will be responsible for developing strategic goals and objectives that support the mission statement of the department. Assist students in exploration of educational options, life goals, and career alternatives. Create and present career related workshops, classroom presentations, and publicize programs on-campus. Establish and build meaningful internships, part-time jobs, and permanent employment opportunities for students. Expand and enhance career development resources through web-based technology, informational literature and online resources. Maintain a working knowledge of career related materials and computerized career information systems. Coordinate, publicize and manage part-time Job Fairs and Career Fairs for the university and the community of Claremore. Maintain budget records and monitor office expenditures for the Career Services component of the Student Affairs Division.

Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in related field and experience working in Higher Education.  Strong oral and written communication skills are needed. Organization, planning, and the ability to network with RSU faculty and staff and the community are essential.  Preferred qualifications include: a Master’s degree in Higher Education, student personnel, or related field.
