There are many benefits of taking college classes while you’re still in high school. You can get a head start on college, earn college credits early (possibly earning your college degree in less than four years), challenge yourself academically, get a taste of the academic and social aspects of college life, and best of all, receive free tuition, a significant savings for you and your parents. |

Am I eligible? |

Juniors
If you are a junior in high school, you must have an ACT composite score of 21 or above and a sub-score of 19 or above in the desired concurrent subject area.
Seniors
If you are a senior in high school, you must have an ACT composite score of 19 or above and a sub-score of 19 or above in the desired concurrent subject area.
For minimum SAT score requirements, contact an Enrollment Center at any RSU campus.
Home-schooled students also may benefit from taking concurrent classes at RSU. For more information, contact an Enrollment Center at any RSU campus.

RSU is the only public four-year university serving Claremore, Bartlesville, Pryor, and the surrounding areas, making it convenient for you to take advantage of our wide variety of academic programs. In addition, RSU is known as one of Oklahoma’s leading institutions offering concurrent education programs for high school students. |

How much does it cost? |

RSU offers free tuition to all high school juniors and seniors who choose to take classes through the Concurrent Enrollment Program for High School Students during the fall and spring semesters. That’s right – you will not be required to pay tuition! You will be required to pay regular class fees. This is a tremendous savings for you and your parents and a way to significantly decrease the cost of your college education. (Some students save hundreds and even thousands of dollars!) |

How do I get started? |

To gain admission to the RSU Concurrent Enrollment Program for
High School Students, you will need to submit:
- RSU Concurrent Enrollment Application (available at Enrollment Centers
at any RSU campus)
- RSU Admission Application (available at Enrollment Centers at any
RSU campus)
- Official High School Transcript
- ACT or SAT scores
You also will need to obtain the permission of your parent or guardian, high school principal and high school counselor to participate in the program. You will be required to obtain the signatures of each on your RSU Concurrent Enrollment Application.

Which classes can I take?

You may enroll in any freshman-level class. RSU offers hundreds of freshman-level classes each semester. Many students choose to get their basic requirements “out of the way,” such as algebra, biology, English composition, government, history, humanities, psychology, and more. See the class schedule online or obtain one from the Enrollment Center at any RSU campus. Remember, you must obtain ACT sub-scores of 19 or above in desired concurrent subject areas. |

How many classes can I take? |

You may enroll in up to 19 hours of combined high school and college classes each semester. For purposes of calculating course load, one-half high school unit will be equivalent to three semester credit hours of college work. |

When can I take my college classes? |
| A. |
You may take your college classes whenever your high school class schedule will allow, during the day or evening. RSU offers hundreds of classes at convenient times during the day or evening on our full-service campuses in Claremore, Bartlesville and Pryor. |

Can I take classes online? |
| A. |
Yes, you may complete your classes entirely via the Internet through the RSU Online Program, which offers hundreds of classes each semester. Remember, online classes are just as challenging (if not more so) than regular “in-person” classes.
RSU is recognized as the leader in online education in Oklahoma and across the nation. RSU was the first accredited public university to offer bachelor’s and associate degrees entirely online.

Will my classes transfer to another college or university? |

The classes you complete through the RSU Concurrent Enrollment Program for High School Students will count toward your requirements at Rogers State University or will transfer to any college or university in Oklahoma (and most out-of-state institutions.)

Step 1

Get admitted to RSU. Contact your high school counselor or an RSU admissions counselor for assistance. You must have the following:

Step 2
|
Enroll in classes. Once admitted,, you will receive a copy of your class schedule from RSU. Enroll online through the Hillcat Hub with your Hillcat Hub ID.

Step 3
|
Pay for class. Tuition and fees must pe paid by the first day of classes. Six hours of tuition is waived for juniors and seniors during the fall and spring semesters. See Tuition Payments for payment options and instructions.

Step 4
|
Purchase books. Books may be purchased at any of our campuses in Claremore, Pryor or Bartlesville.

|
Obtain a student ID. A student I.D. may be obtained at any of our campuses in Claremore, Pryor or Bartlesville.

|
Obtain parking permit. Claremore students must obtain a parking permit from the RSU Police Department. |
