Admissions & Enrollment

Department of Health Sciences

Highlights
We prepare students to achieve personal and professional goals
We educate safe and competent beginning practitioners in selected health fields

The department offers Associate of Applied Science degree programs with majors in Nursing and Emergency Medical Services.

The department also offers a nursing bridge option to licensed paramedics and Licensed Practical Nurses as an avenue for acceleration toward Registered Nurse licensure.

Finally, the department offers an Associate of Science degree in Pre-Nursing. This degree is designed for students preparing to transfer to a baccalaureate nursing program.

The new Bachelor of Science Program in Nursing provides an opportunity for associate degree nursing graduates to achieve advanced academic and personal goals and to develop stronger clinical reasoning and analytical skills to advance their careers.

Many professional practice settings require or highly prefer the baccalaureate degree for specific nursing roles, particularly those that involve community health or nursing management.
