- Preceptor for student from Oklahoma City University BSN program, Spring, 2006
- Selected as an End-of-Life Education Consortium (ELNEC) participant, 2001, The ELNEC project is a comprehensive national education program to improve end of life care by nurses, and is funded by a major grant from the Robert Wood Johnson foundation. Admission to the course is competitive, with each session accommodating 100 participants. There were 426 applications received for the 200 spaces available in the first two sessions I was accepted for and completed the second of the three-day sessions in June in Cleveland. The sessions include faculty from baccalaureate and associate degree nursing programs across the United States.
- Selected as a Red Earth Gerontology Scholar, 1998 Red Earth Gerontology is a 60 hour program designed to train health care providers and others in issues related to geriatric care. Red Earth scholars are expected to further disseminate their knowledge by using modules and units from the training to educate others. This is a selection only program administered through the Oklahoma Geriatric Education Center.
