DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATONSStudent Produced Media
Students write and produce stories about the campus, their colleagues, and all aspects of campus life - past and present. It is imperative that students know how to write, learning the different styles and being able to identify the differences. TestimonialsJunior Kayci Collins was offered an internship at the United Way in Tulsa and credits the Writing for the Media course. Since she had just taken the course, she knew the different styles of writing and was able to provide examples of each to her new employers. Both classes have provided outlets for students to see their work published in the Claremore Daily Progress. Feature stories on students along with photos have been spotted throughout the semester. The top three winning features from the Writing for the Media class. The first place story was featured in the April/May edition of the “Surrey” magazine (a supplement of the Daily Progress) with the second and third place stories published in the Sunday edition of the paper. Each story included a nice biography about the student writing the story. |
